Аннотация. Статья посвящена осмыслению концепции дистанционного обучения, подходов к определению данного явления и основополагающих принципов, лежащих в его основе. Анализ различных трактовок термина дистанционного обучения приводит к осознанию сути рассматриваемого явления, а также позволяет проследить процесс его исторической трансформации. На основе ключевых исследований по данной проблематике в рамках настоящего исследования формируется представление о сущности дистанционного обучения в современных условиях и устанавливаются актуальные принципы этой сферы образования.
