Ай-трекинг исследования эффектов стилизации в фигурных диаграммах

 Фигурные диаграммы, использующие символы как счетные единицы, широко используются в инфографике. Исследования о влиянии уровня стилизации в визуализации на эффективность инфографики до сих пор были неубедительными. Здесь исследовано влияние уровня стилизации (или степени стилизации относительно реалистичности изображения) на эффективность фигурных диаграмм. Исследование было проведено на четырех уровнях: использование абстрактной геометрии, пиктографических изображений, рисунков и фотографий. Результаты ай-трекинг исследования показывают, что информационные графики, основанные на каждом из четырех уровней стилизации, могут быть использованы
с одинаковой степенью эффективности. Было обнаружено отсутствие эффекта стилизации на длительность и производительность при решении задач. Обнаружено, что модели движения глаз не зависят от уровня стилизации. Вместо этого было выявлено, что композиция визуализированных элементов (дизайн визуализации) оказывает большое влияние на паттерны восприятия.
